You've come to the right place for rescuing your old photos or documents. I can repair most any damaged image. Of course that's all within reason. For instance, I cannot (or will not) recreate large areas of importance and detail that was not originally in the picture. There are times that broken or torn off areas can be re-created. (See Woodland 1870 in the Major Repair section.) If the original was out of focus, the retouch will be very similar. Focus can only be slightly improved. Cracked or torn areas are almost always repairable. Spots, wrinkles, scratches, stains, and or folds are all most likely able to be fixed.
My minimum fee of $40.00 is per order not by photo. Group photo jobs can be discounted.
Retouching photos narrows down to three categories:
Minimum: This photo has some fading or a few scratches and spots. Maybe some color or tonal correction. $40.00
Moderate: These shots will be similar but with more obvious damage. $50.00
Major: These photos could be anywhere from old scraped up glass negatives to folded and cracked pictures. The colors faded or stains and spills or even mold. $60.00 and up.
Scanned images: I don't charge for scanning photos. You may submit the actual photo for scanning or a digital file. I do request that the scan be at 600dpi if at all possible. There is a slight art to the scanning process so if you submit a digital file, I will consider the quality of the file itself at the quoting stage.
Prints: I charge $10.00 per print up to 8"x10". I use archival papers for longevity for your new framable piece. I now have up to 13" x 19" capabilities. These are $25.00 each. (I recently had large prints created at a professional shop locally and the prints off of this new printer are a much better color match. They just lost my business.)
Photo Submission: Depending on your location, photos can either be delivered in person or shipped to me. If you are local, we can try to arrange a meeting. If not you can either send the photos by mail (I recommend UPS or FedEx) or you can send me digital files if you have them. Up to around 5 or 6 mb files can easily be sent in an email. Larger files can just as easily be sent using YouSendIt.com, a free and extremely easy way to send large files.
